Jacob Wukie is a 35-year-old husband and father of two girls in Fremont, Ohio who works as an operator at the water department of nearby Port Clinton. Heโ€™s also an Olympic silver medalist archer who practices by shooting diagonal across his property โ€” over his sheep.

Itโ€™s the only way to get regulation distance, he says.

Wukieโ€™s team won silver in the menโ€™s team competition at the 2012 London Olympics. After taking time off for family in 2016, he returned to form for the Tokyo games. Though the team failed to medal, Wukie's inspiring story is an archetypal American apple pie kind of Olympic tale.
