Code 18: Unsolved

Reported and hosted by The Toledo Blade’s award-winning crime reporter Kaitlin Durbin, Code 18: Unsolved was an 8-episode true crime podcast series covering the disappearance and suspected murder of Alvin Darrow. Featuring lots of twists, and a suspect who stepped forward for a special episode in the middle of the season, Code 18 was recognized both by the Ohio Newspaper Photographer’s Association and the Toledo Press Club for its excellence.

EXercise Room

I hosted this Toledo Blade’s sports podcast for its 35 episodes. Branding and production were also part of this Toledo-centric sports 'n' more show. The show featured Blade Sports Editor Jeff Svoboda, columnist David Briggs, beat writer Kyle Rowland and special guests from inside The Blade and out — such as Toledo mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz  and Walleye and Mud Hens CEO and President Joe Napoli.

SPOKEN TOLEDO

This is Toledo's first and only storytelling competition that I have had the tremendous privilege to host for the last two years of its four-year run. During my tenure as host, my design work has helped brand the show as we have spread out from the Ohio Theatre to various venues throughout Toledo, most recently the events space at the Original Sub Shop on Broadway. It is sponsored in part by The Arts Commission of Greater Toledo and features themed evenings where storytellers have five minutes to tell their story on topics ranging from immigrant displacement to dudes we know named Dave.
